As the rain fell the trees shined from the sun & it seemed like mini waterfalls coming down from the leaves. There was a rainbow shining through since it had been raining since the night. On my way to work at 7 am I made my brother stop by the park just for a bit and as we were leaving I asked "Do you ever wonder where the end of the rainbow is?". As a kid my mom always told me that a pot of gold was always at the end of every rainbow & she taught me never to point at a rainbow because she said it was bad luck.
In Chinese mythology, the rainbow was a slit in the sky sealed by goddess Nüwa using stones of five different colours. In Hindu religion, the rainbow is called Indradhanush, meaning "the bow (Sanskrit and Hindi: dhanush is bow) of Indra, the god of lightning, thunder and rain"
The chine mythology of what a rainbow is is very interesting. I wonder if these phenomenons have a different significant for different cultures. In kindergarten I learned that rainbows have gold at their ends as well but I guess that is just a myth. Do you know how exactly the projection of a rainbow occurs? I would like to know. Good observations.
