My Discoveries

Cottonwood park, I've been to this park for many occasions. It's a gorgeous park with picnic tables, a running trail, and a place to play volleyball.... But, there's more to this park than just its outside appearance. There is so much more life that I have been observing over the past week and I can't wait to find and observe new things.
Over this first week I noticed a lot of things that I never knew where there for example that their is a lot of factories surrounding the park. Also, there's a hill that leads you down to the river which is full of life and new things to observe and learn (fishes,beavers, and little crabs). As I was making my way down the running trail I noticed a lot of people running (yes, I was the only one walking). As a matter of fact a lady that was running kept looking at me (she was observing the observer). One night as I was coming home from work I saw a skunk going towards the bushes where the trail that leads to the river is.
      This upcoming week for my observation I'm going to focus more on the bushes and the trail because nothing yet everything can be hiding there. What's really fascinating to me about this project is that no matter what you're observing you always find something knew even if you pass/go to that place everyday there's always new surprises and I can't wait to learn new stuff about this park.
Specially during FALL!
        "An Autumn Day"
      Pumpkins in the cornfields,
      Gold among the brown,
      Leaves of rust and scarlet
      Trembling slowly down;
      Birds that travel southward,
      Lovely time to play;
      Nothing is as pleasant
      As an autumn day!

  1. It's interesting how one can think they know a place so well but in reality they only know what's on the surface. You seem to understand there's some digging to be done in order to truly discover new things and I think that's the purpose of the assignment :) Your voice really shone through this post, adding to a friendly vibe and making me want to read more :) Nice poem by the way!
